Few comics conjure the crushing pressure of the deep ocean quite like Low, and issue #16 pulls you straight into the chaos with a cover depicting armored figures in vivid red suits tumbling through turquoise water, surrounded on all sides by dark, glowing-eyed creatures and a massive shark bearing down with jaws wide open. Greg Tocchini's fluid, painterly linework makes the whole scene feel like it's in freefall — red capes billowing, weapons raised, the deep-sea menace closing in from every direction. Rick Remender's underwater sci-fi epic, colored beautifully by Dave McCaig, continues to be one of Image Comics' most visually arresting series.
