After graduating from high school, Mary goes to live at the logging camp where her father is the supervisor. All of the lumbermen are attracted to her, and Mary agrees to date Neil, despite his reputation as a drinker and spendthrift. Neil promises to reform, but when he later stands her up, Mary goes to a dance with Clem. Neil appears and hits Clem, causing Mary to break up with him. She accepts Clem’s marriage proposal. However, when Neil later risks his life to save Clem, Clem steps aside and Mary realises she does love Neil.
