“Wrong About Him”

In "Wrong About Him," a quiet evening turns chaotic when Jo, trying to sleep, is disturbed by a heated argument between her neighbor Betty and her boyfriend outside her window. Drawn into the scene by Bill’s sudden arrival with a ladder, Jo finds herself caught in a chain of misunderstandings that leaves her exhausted, mistaken for someone else, and even slapped—only to face fresh suspicion from her own boyfriend the next day. The story, illustrated with sharp emotional detail by Julian Morote, captures a moment of small-town tension where one night’s misstep spirals into something far bigger than intended.

She just wanted to make an early night, but couldn't fall asleep due to the argument outside her window between Betty, her neighbor next door, and Betty's boyfriend on the street below. When Bill brings a ladder, she goes down to confront him. By the time it is over, she ends up losing half a night's sleep, nearly gets arrested, and has her face slapped. As if that weren't enough, the next day her own boyfriend notices she looks awful and accuses her of being out with some bloke until the small hours. That night Bill shows up with the ladder again, this time to apologize to her.
