Ann arrives in London to be a photographic model and expects all sorts of important people will be ringing her. But after months of no calls, when the phone finally rings and it turns out to be a wrong number, she begs the caller to stay on the line and talk with her. Over the following days she spends hours talking to the stranger who is an aspiring freelance writer. When Ann agrees to meet him in person, she learns he is blind and runs away. She realizes she has made a mistake, but it is too late as she learns Brian's phone line has been disconnected.
