Gabby had joined a dancing troupe that had gone to France, but is left stranded when the agent goes off with the funds. Pride prevents her from going back to England, so she takes whatever jobs she can find and is fortunate to have Philip come to her rescue on a couple of occasions. Philip is a writer and soon he and Gabby fall in love. Then Gabby gets a dancing job with a touring company and tries to get Philip a backstage job so they can be together. But he is reminded of his previous romance with Lois, who had tried to get him to give up writing after they had been engaged.
