A nurse sees an expensive dress in the window and has the store put it aside for her until she can come up with the rest of the payment. To earn the extra money, she works as a charlady in a flat shared by two men who never actually meet her since she is hired over the phone. On her first night out in her new dress she meets a man who his smitten with her. When he takes her back to his flat, she realizes he lives in the flat where she has been working as a charlady.
