Susie, alone in the world, had come to the little Wyoming town of Wishbone Creek to help her aunt run her 'Eaterie'. On her first day there, the Macey brothers come into town and Jed asks her to marry him. When she turns him down, he abducts her and carries her off to the Macey's ranch. Susie's attitude toward Jed starts to soften until Hank implies that Jed brought her there because they found out she was a good cook.
