“Katie and the Playboy”

"Katie and the Playboy" is a quietly haunting tale from Love Story Picture Library #1336, where a lonely woman named Mandy finds unexpected connection in the rain-soaked stillness by a river. Drawn together by whispered words and the mystery of a stranger she’s never seen, their nightly meetings unfold with a tender, aching intimacy. The story, illustrated with delicate precision by José González, captures the quiet power of emotion and connection in the dark, all told in a 10p comic from 1976.
