When Julia get a new roommate, the noise from one of her parties brings the neighbor from the floor above to complain about the noise as he is trying to study. Julia takes an immediate interest in her neighbor and over the next few days tries to discover what he is studying so she can strike up a conversation on a subject that interests him. Finally, Madge arranges another loud party and when Howard comes down to complain, she pulls him in to give Julia her opening. Julia admits she wants to know him and when he sees her pet bird and cat, she discovers that he has been studying zoology.
