“A Guy, A Girl and a Ghost”

"A Guy, A Girl and a Ghost" is a charming 1973 tale from Love Story Picture Library #1053, where Zana trades her publicity career for a quiet life running a country restaurant at Bramley Manor. When a mysterious wailing from the plumbing threatens her grand opening, she spins a tale of a ghost to keep her elite guests from fleeing—no spoilers, just a clever twist of fate. The cover, by Fernando Carcupino, captures the mood perfectly, while the story’s charm lies in its simple, suspenseful setup.

Zana quits working in the publicity agent business and uses her money to buy a mansion at Bramley Manor where she plans to open a quiet, exclusive country restaurant. On the opening night for the restaurant, faulty plumbing causes a loud wailing sound. Given the prices she is charging, Zana doesn't feel she can tell the customers about the plumbing so she invents a story about a ghost.
