Adam has to perform emergency surgery on a young girl hit by a speeding driver. When Diana, daughter of a rich industrialist, asks about the girl and offers her some money, Adam sees the dent in her car and assumes she was the driver. Adam is invited to a party at the Merrick estate where the young girl's father had been the industrialist's right-hand man. When Diana and Adam meet again, he speaks his mind. Expecting to be sacked because of his blunt talk, he is surprised to discover that instead more money is invested in the hospital and Diana seems to be a changed person.
