Love Diary #39
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeCharlton's Love Diary #39 (August 1965) wears its emotional stakes right on its cover, rendered by Dick Giordano: a tearful woman in a purple top clutches her purse as she storms out an open door, crying "I'm your wife! Not the maid or a slave…," while a desperate man in a suit reaches after her calling "Kitty…wait!" A weeping close-up face in the corner underscores the heartbreak, and the teaser copy promises a story of a once-happy marriage derailed by "The Wrong Advice." Joe Gill's script and Hal Grauer's interior art bring the drama home, making this a compelling slice of mid-sixties romance comics at their most emotionally charged.
