The issue contains two main stories. "The Brute I Love" follows Lynn, a young woman who falls for Paul, a brute who mistreats her and spreads rumors about her, forcing her to leave town in shame; she later encounters him again at a social gathering where he apologizes and tries to win her back, but she ultimately rejects him, having learned that settling for the wrong man can destroy her future. "All Men are Terrific!" features a girl who struggles to understand boys and their behavior until she discovers that being captain of a sports team impresses them, leading her to seek validation through such accomplishments rather than focusing on romance.
