"The Man for Me" follows a woman named Kathy who is torn between her sense of duty and her desire for love while her boyfriend Chet is away on military service. When Chet returns, she realizes through his protective embrace and understanding that she has found the man she truly needs and loves. In a second story, a woman named Smile becomes insecure when her boyfriend Bill befriends a group of intellectual women at a lecture, fearing she is not sophisticated enough for him; however, Bill reassures her that her wholesome nature and genuine affection are what matter to him. A third story depicts a woman named Jean who becomes jealous at a beach party when other men show interest in her, leading her to scheme to win back attention by attempting to make her boyfriend Don jealous with another man named Eldridge.
