Love and Rockets #9
In "Maggie [Part 9]," Jaime Hernandez continues his intimate, deeply observed portrait of Maggie as she navigates a tense visit with her family, caught between her longing for connection and a persistent sense of distance. The story takes a haunting turn when Maggie ventures to Izzy’s house—partially shrouded in black paint and whispered to be haunted—following a strange trail of fluid that leads her to an eerie, fire-lit figure. With his signature blend of emotional realism and surreal atmosphere, Jaime Hernandez delivers another chapter that lingers in the quiet spaces between people and the unseen forces that shape them.

Maggie is at her mom's place, interacting with her and the rest of the family, feeling tortured by her sense of alienation from them. Later on, she heads to Hoppers and checks out Izzy's home, partially covered in black paint and supposedly haunted. She sees a stream of fluid trailing out from the house and follows it around the block, coming across a demonic-looking figure who lights it, causing a line of fire to head straight back to the house.
