Written by Roy Thomas, Rémy Bastien, and L. C. Arch, with art by Don Heck and inks by Vince Colletta, this 1982 issue features a pivotal moment when Hércules is formally named an Avenger. The cover, by John Buscema and Vince Colletta, captures the tension of the crowd before the final confrontation.

Después de la victoria obtenida sobre el Mandarín, se ha declarado "Día de Los Vengadores" y en una reunión en Parque Central se hallan los Vengadores más Hércules, Thor y el Hombre de Hierro para ser homenajeados. Entre la multitud acecha el Super-Adaptoide, creado por IMA, que meses atrás fue derrotado por el Capitán América y que ahora ve la ocasión de acabar con él, adaptando los poderes de todos los ahí reunidos. Hércules es nombrado Vengador oficialmente. Tras marcharse Thor y el Hombre de Hierro, el androide ataca. Al utilizar todos sus poderes a la vez, éste colapsa y es derrotado.
