“¡Hércules!”

"¡Hércules!" marks a mythic crossover in Los Vengadores #17 (1971), where the Avengers return from Europe only to face an unexpected invasion from the Olympian realm. When the Enchantress uses a magical potion to ensnare Hercules and send him to Earth to battle Thor, the mighty warrior arrives at the Avengers' mansion and overwhelms the team—until Hawkeye’s flare restores Hercules’s senses. Written by Roy Thomas and F. Sesén, with art by Don Heck and inks by George Roussos, the issue blends superhero action with Greek mythology. The cover by López Espí captures the clash of gods and heroes in striking detail.
