About this Collection

This debut volume collects the first 25 episodes of Rachel Smythe's Eisner Award-winning webcomic, reimagining the myth of Persephone and Hades in a modern, visually lush setting. It follows the young goddess of spring as she navigates the politics and romance of Olympus, offering a fresh take on ancient Greek mythology with contemporary themes and character-driven drama.

In "Stag, You're It," Rachel Smythe delivers a poignant chapter of Lore Olympus, weaving together lingering heartbreak and quiet longing. As Eros reflects on a past he can’t forget, Psyche’s sisters sow doubt with a knife that changes everything—leaving her to confront the cost of trust. Meanwhile, Persephone’s new phone buzzes with a message from Hades, who remains unaware of the connection. The story, written and illustrated entirely by Rachel Smythe, features her distinctive art and storytelling on every page, with cover art by her as well.

Eros concludes his tale. Psyche's envious sisters, allowed to visit, convince her that her relationship with Eros is toxic, and give her a knife with which to kill him as he sleeps. She at last recognizes him as Eros, but he is broken-hearted from her lack of trust. Since then he has never seen her, though he longs to rejoin her. Persephone messages Hades with her new phone, but not recognizing the number, he ignores it.
