Wile E. Coyote finds himself thoroughly wrapped up in trouble on the cover of this 2001 DC offering — literally mummified and dangling helplessly while an elaborate Rube Goldberg-style contraption of pulleys, rods, and a flaming torch looms over him, with tiny silhouettes of familiar Looney Tunes characters decorating the golden background. The cover pencils by David Álvarez and inks by Mike DeCarlo give the whole scene a wonderfully chaotic energy that perfectly captures the spirit of the story title "Cheops Stix." If you enjoy watching Wile E. get entangled in his own overcomplicated schemes — this time with an ancient Egyptian twist — this issue delivers exactly that promise right from the front cover.
