Long Bow #2 is an anthology featuring at least two stories: "Long Bow: Indian Boy," in which a young warrior named Lone Arm challenges Bear Claw to single combat over a disputed scalp, with a cougar interrupting their duel before a decisive outcome; and "Foxfoot's Blunder," by Captain Stuart Kerrigan, in which a Native American hunter named Foxfoot sets a snare to catch woodchucks but is deceived by a mysterious figure who uses magic or trickery to vanish in smoke, leading Foxfoot and his companions to believe spirits have intervened. The issue contains adventure tales set in wilderness and Native American settings, with themes of hunting, combat, and supernatural elements.

Foxfoot's Blunder
2 pp

Foxfoot sets a snare for a woodchuck but arrogantly dismisses the help of two faithful dogs who sense danger, driving them away with stones and arrows. When his trap catches something far more dangerous than he bargained for—a wolverine—Foxfoot discovers that the companions he spurned were watching over him all along, ready to answer his desperate call for help.

The Slave Raiders
4 pp

When Gros Ventres raiders capture two young Blackfoot hunters—Little Fox and Lone Star—during a winter fishing expedition, the children must use their wits to survive their journey north into slavery. With only a dropped glove to guide their tribe's rescue party, Little Fox and Lone Star devise a cunning plan while forced to tend their captors' fire, setting in motion events that will turn the tables on their would-be enslavers. This tale of quick thinking and courage, as told by Chief Great Wolf, shows how an unconquerable spirit can triumph even in the harshest circumstances.
