Philippe Druillet's Lone Sloane: Delirius is a feast for fans of cosmic, darkly ornate science fantasy, and this 2016 Sherpa edition makes it beautifully accessible. The cover, fully rendered by Druillet himself, is an overwhelming vision of massed alien warriors — hulking, armored figures bristling with spears and bizarre weaponry, dominated by a massive snarling beast-faced giant looming over a smaller, eerily glowing purple face below. It's the kind of densely layered, grotesque grandeur that made Druillet and co-creator Lob a defining force in European comics.
