The Swift Rider joins a posse to stop white men's bullets and renegade treachery on "The Iron Trail," confronting a sheriff who claims to hold the Swift Rider prisoner while pursuing a man named Bert Rex, whom the sheriff accuses of murder. An extended flashback reveals an Indigenous origin story in which two young lovers from different tribes are sent on separate spiritual quests to find a medicine dream, guided by visions of a bright star and a yellow horse, ultimately destined to meet again with new names that will define their identities for life.
