Locke & Key: Crown of Shadows #6
The final issue of Locke & Key: Crown of Shadows closes out this arc with a cover that is quietly devastating — a young woman's face stares out with hollow, unsettling eyes, her cheek and jaw shattering apart like broken glass, fragments falling away against a background of spreading cracks. Gabriel Rodriguez's cover art is beautifully unsettling, using that splintering imagery to say everything the story's title, "Beyond Repair," promises. Joe Hill and Rodriguez's 2010 horror series continues to demonstrate that the most disturbing images don't need to shout.
