Lobo: A Contract on Gawd #2

Part two of DC's 1994 mature-readers miniseries finds the Main Man himself standing atop a gruesome pile of defeated foes, twin guns in hand, cigar clamped between his teeth, and feathers drifting around him in a wonderfully absurd tableau. Kieron Dwyer's cover work captures Lobo in full swagger — leather jacket, skull-buckle belt, star-emblazoned kneepads and all — projecting exactly the kind of irreverent menace this series promises. With Alan Grant writing and Dick Giordano inking, "The Temptations of St. Lobo" looks like it earns that "We Really Mean It" mature-readers warning with gleeful conviction.
