Little Max Comics #70
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeLittle Max has found his own approach to ice fishing — wielding a red plunger to send goldfish flying out of a hole in the ice, while a second bundled-up figure struggles with a rod and line in the background. Harvey Comics' long-running pint-sized charmer brings his signature mischievous grin to this delightfully silly 1961 cover, promising the lighthearted humor that made Little Max Comics a staple of the Joe Palooka universe. At just a dime, issue #70 is a cheerful snapshot of Harvey's knack for kid-friendly comedy with a warm, goofy heart.

Max overhears two men discussing that they need to lose weight and decides he should do the same. He spends the entire day doing exercises that he has seen Joe Palooka do when losing weight for a boxing match, wearing himself out in the process. Joe invites him and Casey out to dinner, and Max is so hungry from all of his exercise that he eats much more than usual. In the end, he has gained two pounds, but Joe tells him that it is healthy for a boy his age to gain weight.
