Little Max discovers an involuntary opportunity for heroism when he inadvertently becomes responsible for stopping a runaway car on a hill after its brakes fail, risking his own safety to save a friend from the vehicle's path. The issue also includes a public service feature where Joe Palooka helps young readers start a safe air rifle club, complete with membership cards, awards, and information on how to organize and run such a group through the Junior Safety Institute.
