The issue contains two main stories. In the first, Little Eva and her friends play ball, but their flat pancake-like ball lacks air, so Eva uses an invisible ink pen to inflate it, which works initially but then causes chaos when the words written on it become visible and the pen continues writing uncontrollably, leading to a mess that Eva must clean up. In the second story, Eva and her friends take a dog named Rover to the beach for swimming, but the dog causes trouble by running away with a stick and interfering with the children's activities, eventually angering a lifeguard who chases them away from the beach.
