Lion Annual #1956

This anthology annual contains multiple adventure stories. One story follows Don and Micky, young divers who discover gold vases on a sunken reef but become trapped when a giant octopus, drawn by blood in the water, attacks Don; Micky manages to distract the creature long enough for Don to escape, and they watch as sharks defeat the octopus before they surface to find a mission steamer arriving. Another story features Ken on a fur-trading expedition in the Arctic, where a treacherous half-breed steals the sled dogs and furs; Ken pursues on foot, recovers the stolen goods, and plans to rescue his companions from a cottage under enemy attack. A third story follows Joe and Shorty as they attempt to rescue comrades from an enemy-held cottage, using a bakelite blast-grenade through a window as cover to fight their way inside and ultimately blow up the structure.
