Lion #87 is an anthology issue containing multiple stories. The lead feature, "Captain Condor: Space-Man Avenger," follows the titular space pilot in the year 3000 as he battles a ruthless dictator; in this installment, Condor narrowly escapes the dictator's forces after being ambushed near a battle-cruiser and is captured alongside the freighter and patrol-boat he was pursuing. "Stormy Tale: Skipper of the Wheezy Anna," by R.G. Thomas, depicts Stormy and his crew encountering mysterious natives and a strange god named Kaluga on Colos Island, leading to mutiny aboard the ship when superstitious crew members fear supernatural danger. The issue also includes a second historical story beginning with knights and a queen at the Tower of London, concluding with a banquet held in honor of two heroes, and a "World-Wide Quiz" feature with illustrated riddles covering geography, animals, famous people, and sports.
