Lion #50 is an anthology featuring "Captain Condor," a science-fiction story by Frank S. Pepper set in the year 3000, in which space pilot Captain Condor and his crew are captured by Zorians on an enchanted moon and must navigate the ruler's treacherous court while discovering the moon's secrets. A second story follows Mercius, who races his chariot to the Roman Emperor Nero's palace, where he encounters the conjurer Cardoc and becomes entangled in a dangerous plot involving the Emperor's demand for a chariot race. The issue also includes "Bingo Jones and His Invisibiliser" by Tom Stirling, a humorous adventure in which a schoolboy named Bob uses a magical invisibility cloth invented by his Uncle Sep to help his friend Bingo Jones retrieve a lost rabbit. Additional content includes a "World-Wide Quiz" with fourteen trivia questions covering geography, history, and general knowledge.
