Lion #45 is an anthology issue featuring three distinct stories. "Captain Condor: Space-Man of the Unknown Moon" by Frank S. Pepper follows space pilot Captain Condor as he encounters hostile moon-men with advanced machinery and tentacled creatures; realizing the attack is being remotely controlled from a deep lunar cavern, Condor must stop the moon-men's plot. A second story depicts the gladiator Cardoc fighting a charging rhinoceros in an arena, with the creature twisting to trap his sword before he employs his agility to survive. "Jingo Jones and His Invisibiliser" by Tom Stirling tells of the Head, a character using an invisibility device to thwart a traveling menagerie's plans, ultimately discovering how to reverse the invisibility effect. The issue also includes the "World-Wide Quiz," a brain-teasing question-and-answer feature.
