Lion #104 is an anthology featuring "Captain Condor and the Space Ship Spy," a science fiction story by Frank S. Pepper in which the space pilot Captain Condor, operating in the year 3000, uses a magnetic beam to disable a dictator's spy machine while attempting to rescue a scientist from the Dover Tide Station. The issue also includes "The Lion Birthday Club," a reader-participation section with letters, prize competitions (including an electric train set), and birthday announcements; a "World-Wide Quiz" with general knowledge questions; and "They Went to War with Catapults," an educational feature illustrating ancient siege weapons and warfare tactics used in Roman, Greek, Indian, and medieval battles.
