Gadgetman convinces the United World Council to delay their decision on the Trickster's demands. Gadgetman is then seemingly killed attempting to reverse the Trickster's effects on the sun. As Gimmick-Kid frees himself and the abducted scientists, the Trickster teleports himself across the universe to escape Earth's doom -- only to find he has been trailed by the ghostly apparitions of Gadgetman and Gimmick Kid.
