After an arduous journey involving extreme heat that nearly melts Petey, the two stow away on a ship heading home. Upon arrival, they are reunited with Pan's father, who praises their adventure; Pan subsequently becomes a talented musician, playing his magical flute by the water's edge.
When an atomic explosion sends Li'l Pan and Petey tumbling through the sky, they crash-land in Greenland on a desperate hunt for the Pipes of Pan—only to run into a scheming taxi driver and a perilous frozen landscape. After narrowly escaping the con artist's outrageous fees, the pair encounters Jack Frost himself, who reveals the Pipes have been passed along to an explorer bound for distant shores, launching them toward their next wild adventure.
