In one story, a grandmother exhausts herself doing chores while babysitting her grandson, leading to mishaps around the house including a cut tree, broken lamp, spilled ice cream, and apple pie, prompting the boy to suggest she see a lawyer. In another story titled "Who's Got the Money, Honey?", a well-dressed man refuses to buy his son a toy airplane downtown, claiming he has no money and his eyes are bigger than his wallet, despite apparently having a full room of toys at home.
Young Ollie promises to behave while his parents leave him with his grandmother, but the spirited older woman has other plans—she's ready for roller skates, boxing, biking, swimming, and a full Huckleberry Finn-style fishing adventure. As chaos erupts across the house and yard, Ollie finds himself swept up in his grandmother's infectious energy, leaving behind a trail of mayhem that his parents are sure to discover.
Ollie wants everything he sees downtown, but his dad keeps reminding him that money doesn't grow on trees—until Ollie overhears his father bragging to his boss about all the Christmas presents he's already bought, and realizes his parents might not be quite as broke as they claimed. This short, silly romp plays out the gap between what grown-ups tell kids and what kids actually figure out on their own.
