Li'l Genius #46

Jon D'Agostino's cover for this 1963 Charlton issue says it all with a single gleeful gag: Li'l Genius, chef's hat perched on his head and a mischievous grin on his face, pours a giant container of glue into a bubbling pot over an open flame, promising his wide-eyed young dinner guests that the stew will "REALLY stick to your ribs." The two horrified kids seated at the table, spoons already in hand, look like they're having second thoughts about accepting the dinner invitation. It's the kind of cheerful, absurdist humor that made Charlton's humor line a fun corner of early '60s comics.
