Li'l Genius #19

Frank Johnson's cover for this December 1958 Charlton gem captures Li'l Genius in full "Little Doctor" mode, gleefully wrapping a fast-asleep older kid from head to toe in bandages while a first-aid kit sits open nearby — the ZZZs floating overhead make it clear the patient has no idea what's happening to him. A second redheaded child peeks in from the upper corner, apparently delighted by the whole spectacle. It's the kind of cheerful, mischievous humor that made Charlton's kid comics such a warm presence on 1958 spinner racks.
