The fourteenth volume of Les Gendarmes roars onto the page with a cover that sets the tone perfectly: a helmeted motorcyclist blazes past on a red bike while two hapless gendarmes scramble by a "GO!" speed-display sign, one of them throwing up his arms in exasperation. Titled L'imitation de vitesse !, this 2012 Bamboo Édition entry plays gleefully on the chaos that ensues when the forces of order meet the forces of acceleration. Fans of the series' warm, slapstick humor will feel right at home.
