DC's Elseworlds banner gets a far-future twist in this 1994 annual, as "Castles in the Air" imagines the Legion cast in an alternate-reality adventure written by Ty Templeton and Mark Waid. Paul Pelletier and Mark Farmer's cover assembles a striking ensemble of roughly a dozen Legionnaires posed against a sweeping planetary backdrop — a half-black, half-white costumed hero commands the foreground alongside a dark-haired woman in purple and a kneeling figure clutching a gleaming sword, with cloaked, armored, and elegantly robed teammates filling out the group behind them.
