Legends of the DC Universe #8

Part two of the "Peacemakers" arc brings Green Lantern and Green Arrow together in this September 1998 installment of Legends of the DC Universe, with a cover by Hugh Fleming that makes a strong case for painterly comics art. Green Lantern surges upward in the foreground, ring blazing as a glowing green construct spirals around what appears to be a rocket or missile, while a close-up of a focused, arrow-clutching Green Arrow looms large behind him — the contrast between the two heroes' styles feels deliberate and charged. Written by Denny O'Neil with interior art by Greg Land and Dick Giordano, this is a satisfying chapter in a team-up that puts two of DC's most socially conscious heroes front and center.
