Peter Porkchops means well, but poor Wolfie might disagree — the cover of this March 1954 DC funny-animal gem shows Peter standing on a stool, vigorously plunging Wolfie's head into a bathtub while cheerfully insisting, "I was only trying to help, Wolfie!" Otto Feuer's bright, rubbery linework captures the slapstick chaos perfectly, from the scattered plumbing tools on the floor to Wolfie's very unhappy expression. It's the kind of warm, goofy humor that made Leading Screen Comics a delightful ten-cent treat in 1954.
