Peter Porkchops' entrepreneurial ambitions take a hilariously wrong turn on this 1954 DC cover by Otto Feuer, where a panicked dog is riding a "Moon Rocket Ship" skyward — already wondering aloud, "Come to think of it, Peter, how do I get back?" — while the smug little pig stands safely beside his "Peter Porkchops' Moon Rocket Ships Inc." launch stand. Feuer's rubbery, expressive linework wrings every drop of comedy from the poor dog's mid-flight regret, making this a wonderfully goofy snapshot of the funny-animal humor DC served up so well in the early fifties. Inside, the story "Gold Rush Daze!" promises more of Peter's scheming ways — though judging by the cover, his customers may have more adventure than they bargained for.
