About this Collection

The eighth volume of Frank Giroud's sweeping historical series 'Le Décalogue,' this installment follows the ongoing saga of a mysterious book that grants its possessor the power to influence the course of history. Titled 'Nahik,' this chapter continues the intricate narrative spanning centuries, with art by various illustrators as the story shifts through different eras and characters tied to the fateful manuscript.

Le décalogue #8 (2002) plunges readers into the haunted atmosphere of post-Napoleonic France, where Alexandre et Ninon Fleury seek refuge with Ninon’s brother Hector, a famed novelist living in a house heavy with secrets. As dusk falls, the estate’s silence gives way to the tormented cries of Nadal, Hector’s brother, trapped in a hidden attic and tormented by a monstrous presence that only emerges after dark. Written by Frank Giroud and illustrated by Lucien Rollin, with colors by Jean-Jacques Chagnaud, this issue builds a slow-burning dread through its oppressive setting and unspoken horrors. Cover by Lucien Rollin.
