BOOM! Studios announced the series in March 2024, pairing writer Greg Pak — whose Korean American heritage and award-winning feature film Robot Stories established a through-line of outsider identity in his work — with artist Diego Galindo, whose prior credits included Stranger Things: The Voyage and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers at two different publishers.
