Veronica and Archie race Reggie to scoop a headline about the Board of Education seeking Mr. Weatherbee's retirement. Since Jughead is opposed to printing rumors, they instead print a misquote from Mr. Weatherbee claiming his opposition to homework on the grounds that it leads to procrastination. When the Board reads the story, they laud Weatherbee's progressiveness and decide against seeking his retirement.
