This January 1960 Charlton issue puts the whip-cracking Lash LaRue front and center, with the cover by Pete Morisi bursting with action — a black-clad rider thundering on horseback amid a flurry of BANG, BAM, and CRACK sound effects, all anchored by a grim "$5,000 Wanted: Dead or Alive" poster. A second scene at the bottom throws Lash into a tense face-off as a stranger's friendly handshake turns into a drawn gun, with the taunt "Draw... Friend!" The promise of free prizes inside is almost a footnote compared to the high-tension western drama Morisi packs onto every inch of this cover.
