The "King of the Bullwhip" is in fine form on this May 1959 Charlton cover, penciled by Charles Nicholas and inked by Vince Alascia, as Lash LaRue sends guns flying from the hands of no fewer than four armed outlaws with a single crack of his legendary whip. It's a wonderfully kinetic scene set against a rugged canyon backdrop, with weapons sparking and desperados recoiling in every direction. Inside, Pete Morisi brings the story "The Miracle of the Whip" to life — and if the cover is any indication, Lash's signature weapon is doing plenty of miraculous work.
