This second volume of Soleil's Lancelot series carries the ominous title "Iweret," and Alexe's cover sets the mood immediately: a towering, dark-robed sorcerer strides across ancient standing stones beneath a storm-split sky, staff in hand and long white beard catching the wind. The atmosphere is brooding and mythic, drawing deeply from Arthurian legend's darker corners. Jean-Luc Istin's storytelling and Élodie Jacquemoire's rich coloring promise a 2010 Franco-Belgian take on the knights of Camelot that feels both timeless and genuinely foreboding.
