Lady Death IV: The Crucible #6
In "What Is and What Should Never Be," Lady Death confronts the catastrophic aftermath of the Valkyrie's reckless activation of Odin's power, unleashing Genocide's universe-destroying engine. Armed with the bloodthirsty sword Nightmare, she channels her dark fury to halt the annihilation, leaving the Asgardians to rebuild as she prepares to return to Hell. Written by Brian Pulido and illustrated with visceral intensity by Steven Hughes—whose inks and colors bring the apocalyptic stakes to life—this pivotal issue sees Lady Death stand at the edge of oblivion, her path forward as uncertain as the fate of the cosmos. The cover, also by Hughes, captures her in a moment of grim resolve, a silhouette against the crumbling sky.
