“Trampled Underfoot”

In "Trampled Underfoot," Lady Death stands at the heart of a desperate defense as the Valkyrie rally behind the returning leader Vulnavia to face Scorpia’s onslaught in Asgard. Written by Brian Pulido and brought to life by Steven Hughes’ dynamic art and inks, the issue ramps up the stakes with a shocking betrayal from Tyr—his spear striking Lady Death down as the Valkyrie’s unity fractures. With Lady Death and the Valkyrie seized by Genocide and dragged to his monolithic fortress, the fate of Asgard hangs in the balance. The cover by Steven Hughes captures the moment’s grim intensity, a 2.95 USD (3.95 CAD) journey into myth and betrayal.

The long lost Valkyrie leader, Vulnavia, returns to Asgard in its hour of need. Lady Death and the united Valkyrie use the power of Odin to hold off Scorpia and her army. Jealous of having his leadership usurped by a mere woman, Tyr betrays his people by spearing Lady Death in the back. With Lady Death fallen, Genocide swoops in and captures her and the Valkyrie and transports them all to his monolith towers.
